Pondicherry is known as β€œThe French Riviera of the East,” and represents this fact in being a former French colony. It consists of four regions, declaring Pondicherry to be the official name due to it having the largest span. It is astoundingly highly educationally driven, containing a university, and about forty colleges ranging in majors such as engineering, dental, art, medical, law – plus more!

Pondicherry is situated on the Coromendal coast, about 160Kms south of Chennai. It was formerly a French colony. The French ruled this territory for 300 years. It became of a part of Indian union in November 1954 and stands as a living monument of French culture in India. It is called as Pudhucherry also.

Pondicherry is a Union Territory of India and was originally known as Puducherry, meaning 'new village'. Botanical Gardens in Pondicherry arrest the attraction of the people. C.S Perrotet founded this garden in 1826 and it conserves a large variety of interesting class of plants from all over India and abroad. Ananda Ranga Pillai Mansion in Pondicherry is another important place of Pondicherry Tourism. It displays a blend of Indo-French architecture.
